Kenneth Kosten, DDS
Dr. Kosten grew up in Collinsville and went on to attend the University of Missouri where after only two years he was accepted to University of Illinois at Chicago’s College of Dentistry. He graduated from dental school in 1975 with honors and was elected into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor society. He then opened up his practice in the same location it is today and has been practicing there ever since. Dr. Kosten is a member of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, and Madison District Dental Society.
Dr. Kosten has been married to his wife Jean since 1975 and has two children and five grandchildren.
You will immediately appreciate Dr. Kosten’s gentle approach and honesty when visiting our office. All of his staff members have been with him for many years because they value his integrity and the quality of his work.
Kathryn Kosten, DMD
Dr. Katie joined our practice part-time in 2009. She graduated summa cum laude from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. Before deciding to be a dentist, Dr. Katie taught high school chemistry and coached volleyball and track. After a few years in education, she decided to pursue a career in dentistry and attended Southern Illinois University’s School of Dental Medicine where she graduated summa cum laude in 2009. Dr. Katie, like Dr. Kosten, was also elected to Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society.
Dr. Katie currently also practices in Saint Louis where she is the Dental Director at Dental Care for Kids, a non profit office that treats underserved children. Dr. Katie is a member of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, Greater St. Louis Dental Society, and is a past president of the Madison District Dental Society.
Dr. Katie is married to Dr. Kosten’s son Jason and has three sons, Jacob, James, and Sam.
Patients appreciate Dr. Katie’s honesty and explanations of treatment. She loves to treat children and welcomes them to the practice!
Donna has been working in dentistry since high school when she worked in a dental office as part of a co-op. She graduated from Prairie State College’s dental hygiene program in 1979 and has been working for Dr. Kosten since 1985.
Donna very much appreciates the quality care she feels she can provide working at Kosten Dental Care. She values the relationships she forms with her patients, many of whom have become friends. She loves working with the other staff and is grateful that she is able to work with two doctors whom she likes and respects. She truly enjoys coming to work each day!
In her spare time, Donna enjoys spending time with family and friends, volunteering with the Boy Scouts, reading, and traveling.
Jill has been a hygienist for 18 years. After completing her general studies at SIU Edwardsville, she completed her hygiene training at St. Louis Community College at Forest Park.
Jill has worked at Kosten Dental Care for 9 years and is proud to work for Dr. Kosten. She values his ability to provide quality care and comfort dentistry to each patient that comes into the office and appreciates that he is a respected member of the community.
Jill’s hobbies include traveling, boating, and fishing with her husband.
Monica has been working in dentistry for 21 years, and considers herself blessed to have worked the last 14 of those at Kosten Dental Care. She truly appreciates the friendships she has made with her patients and their families. She values the opportunity to work with a great boss and doctor. She enjoys helping patients feel comfortable and overcome their fear of dental work so they can get back the beautiful smile they once had.
Monica is married and has three children. She loves spending time with her family and friends and likes to garden in her spare time.
Lori attended Kaskaskia College and has been working in the field of dentistry for 28 years. She has worked at Kosten Dental Care for the last 11 years where she has come to value working for Dr. Kosten. Over the years, she has continually heard how patients appreciate Dr. Kosten’s ability to provide comfort and excellent cosmetic results.
Lori takes oral health very seriously, and not only brushes and flosses daily herself but makes sure to brush her dog Tanner’s teeth too!
